Education at Northfields

Through the enthusiasm, care and commitment of our team we aim to provide high standards of care and educational opportunity, we actively promote warm, secure and positive relationships with all children. We  work in partnership with our parents to support children to grow into happy, self-confident and independent individuals laying the foundations for later life.

At Northfields Nursery we believe that every child is unique and is constantly learning.

We aim to make each child’s early education experiences positive and meaningful. We know that children learn best in a welcoming, warm, secure and caring environment where that are able to experiment and have fun, take risks, learn from their experiences and grow in confidence. The unique character and individuality of each child is emphasised and valued.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. (EYFS) Children learn in the EYFS by playing and exploring, being active and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside.

This means that your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through seven areas of learning and development.

We also use our outdoor learning environment to support early years education through activities in the natural world. Studies have shown that outdoor learning increases self esteem and self confidence; help develop physical skills; increase levels of creativity, imagination, motivation and concentration and help develop language and communication skills.

To further consolidate our educational values, we are working towards accreditation with "The Curiosity Approach"
